At first I thought my spur gear was shot from what everyone told me, but upon opening up the tranny cover, I discovered it seemed fine. I am brand new at this, and don't know where to go from here. Any help would be awsome!

Just take your transmission apart and look inside.

It probally is your idler gear.

haha yea i know...its a cell phone video. I was just trying to get the point across that the spur gear was fine, and let yall hear the sound it was making. is the idler gear what attaches to the shaft in the middle of the spur gear?

The idler gear is the smallest gear in the stampede tranny. The gear is about $3. Just take it apart and we well go from there.

since youll have it open put an alum idler gear in there. its only a little more but it will never blow on you again. when you roll the truck forward does it make a funny sound? how about turning the spur by hand? what motor are you running?
