the os is about as powerful as a 3.3, so you wont see any difference there, mainly with it's tune holding, it's a lot easier to tune then a 3.3, you will find people who say the 3.3 is lower quality because there are so many complaints against them but there are so many 3.3 engines out there it's not funny, if theres a LOT of a type of engine there will be a lot more complaints, doesn't mean the engine isn't any good.

NOOOO why the heck would anyone go for a smaler motor? even if it does have a little more torq why not get a bigger .28 or something and have LOADS more torq and speed? it dont make sence to me to get a smaller motor, its pretty dumb if you ask me.

You know, power isnt' everything, especially if you can't control it. I can guarantee if Steve Slayden had a .12 in his Revo and you had your big old .28, he'd still kick your ass at the track. Driving and skill amount to alot.

THere is alot of reasons why he would go with a O.S rather than a .28 Price, power, and reliability are a few reasons. Putting a big block in your revo will be costy and depending on which .21-.32 you get, it could be difficult to control. Bigger motor dosen't mean more power also man. I have seen some 21's that are quicker than a .28. So you shouldn't give any reply's like "NOOO why heck would anyone go for a smaller motor?" if you don't know too much about the topic .

Just to put it simply, some tracks don't allow big blocks on there track. Like mine.[:'(]

i was talking to my uncle and kinda found out why but i still will not Ever go with a motor that is smaller in cu. in. there is not an increase in speed which everyone would want some of of upgrading a motor.I realised most dont go with a BB cuz of the diffs and the tranny i will upgrade both of these before i upgrade the motor. i will be going with a o.s .30 or RB motor. i will gear it to where it wont wheelie before halve throttle and stuff like that.

I still think you missed that part about racing rules and big block motors. I'll shut up now.

I upgraded from an 2.5 to the os 18tm and couldnt be happier,,,but after a few weeks, I want more[>:] I realize what everyone says about racing and driving but you never said what you want it for.

I put my 2.5r in my wifes revo I bought her, and on our little short track in the back yard,,the 2.5 will hang with the os .18tm as long as she dont make a mistake..I can notice a small pull away in the stretch with the os. but then again, i cant punch the o.s. since it will flip on its lid I guess if I set it up for racing it would pull away better, but driving seems to be everything..

I can say though, I dont have to touch my o.s. tunning wise, but always on the 2.5r . I always check the temps on 2.5, but stopped checking my o.s. since I never seen it go over 240 even at the end of the tank.

I beleive the os is a smaller motor than the 3.3 but it is very similiar power and speed and a direct drop in.(never had a 3.3 but read alot on the 2). If you bash and can afford bigger, i would go bigger than the o.s. it all depends on you i guess..When my wifes 2.5r goes, she will get the o.s. and Im going bigger.[>:]

the 3.3 is faster than the o.s come on guys think about it, the o.s is smaller in cu. in. its not as fast as the 3.3. Yea it might have more torq but not faster in the long run.
