Default new engine break in method

im thinking of getting like a picco or a os but im not sure, well anyways i was wondering if i should use the heat cycle cuz im not so fond of it. or use the traxxas way. plz help dont wanna breakin new engine wrong way

well, i broke in my 3.3 and the o.s tm using the heat cycle...and till this day, they run great!! i would recommend that method. remember to mark your flywheel when your piston is at BDC... so in between cycles while cooling, you can find your BDC easily! i've also used the traxxas method on a 2.5 and i never had a problem with that motor...good luck

for traxxas engines use the traxxas break in, for everything else use the heat cycle.

Heat cycle is the best way to go. Even better if you prelube with synthetic oil and preheat the engine with a heatgun before over turning it over for the first time.

rawky: kliff has been mia from here for a long time, and according to his brother, he doesn't do RC of any kind anymore.

Rc Universe has an artivle on it, thats the way I use to break in all of my engines. It works very well! Do a search I forgot where it is...Look in past articles

thanks but im really not a newb to nitro rc cars but just breaking the ones you want heat cylcle to break them in (used to traxxas)
