CVD's at both ends? Doesn't the driveshaft length change slightly as the suspension moves thru it's travel? So CVD's at both ends will cause the suspension to bind? Or is there a dogbone hidden under the rubber dust boot on one end?

Correct me If Im wrong, they stand for constant-velocity driveshafts. Replacing the stock dogbone drivetrain setup, it helps tranfer power to the ground and is much more durable than a typical dogbone set-up. So If you were going to a BB set-up, I reccomed you get these.
hope it helped drummer.
shark-I don't think the lengnth changes as the suspenion changes. Correct if I am wrong.

rotating mass, the stock ones all wight is on the outside so even though the plastic ones are probably lighter, because all the mass is on the outside the inertia of the stock ones are probably greater then the metal ones

RE: New Traxxas CVD's
yeah they do look good. as far as i know they do have dogbones at one end and the end at the knuckles is the cvd. they have dogbones cuz they do move in and out which is why the stock revo and newer t-maxxes have slip joints in them. as far as price goes check out stormerhobbies.com. very good prices

RE: New Traxxas CVD's
My LHS says he thinks he'll get these within 30 days. He plans on selling them for 89.95. He also has another brand he can get that cost around sixty-five and the only difference we could see on the computer screen is that the Traxxas ones are shiny and they have the boots. Actually, these Traxxas ones are the first time I've seen boots on metal cvd's. My MGT came with them standard (metal cvd's) but no boots. If they are assembled like the MGT's are I'm not sure what advantage the boots offer as I've had no problems with grit or grime on the exposed ones the MGT has. They do look cool though.

RE: New Traxxas CVD's
One of the main difference is that the TRX CVD's have a single long screw pin that goes through the differential output shaft, instead of two small setscrews that tend to back out. The seal also acts as a retainer of sorts for the pins in addition to keeping dirt away from the greased CVD. They are actually quite clever.
They are shipping currently and should be in hobby shops very soon. Large mail order chains and some large hobby shops already have them. I have been asked about the UK stocking these. I do not have a solid answer, but UK is usually several months behind the US regarding new releases.

Thanks Traxxas Tech, I don't think my LHS is aware of the use of a single 'screw pin' as you called it. And your right about the pins backing out, its never happened with my truck yet but an associate of mine lost his once that way.

For half the price you can get these THS CVD's. I use them and they are great.
