Fuel help.
Hey, everybody.
I have a little problem here.
I've been running Traxxas Top Fuel 20% Nitro since I got it which would be about 3 months ago.
I recently ordered the same Traxxas fuel from Hobby Towers but with 33% Nitro.
It's a quart & I was wondering if I use it & then go back to 20% would I mess up my engine big time?
I know it's bad to go up in Nitro & then down but I have a quart of 33% Top fuel on my hands.
Should I just sell it off?
Thanks.

RE: Fuel help.
Ive switched from 20% to 30% o'donalds fuel all the time and NOTHING ever happened. That motor lasted well over 15 gallons. So all you guys saying it will shorten engine life.....its not true. All you will need to do is re tune your engine for the 33% and you will be good to go. Switching from 20% to 33% is not bad at all, just a little tuning....if you don't tune thats what messes your engine up. higher nitro % will make your engine run cooler with more power but the tuning window is a tad smaller

Yep, you'll just have to retune. Other than that there should not be any issues.
I would suggest that you try a different brand of fuel though. When I used Top Fuel I would constantly have slippage issues with the OWB's on my trucks. After I switched to O'Donnell's 95% of those problems went away and the engines seem to be easier to tune.
Just a thought...

I know it's not bad to go higher but after I use up that Quart can I switch back to the 20%?
As long as I re-tune?

I posted this like a day ago, should clear up any questions you have.
Feel free to pass the link around, theres some good info in there that everyone into Nitro models should know
