revo clutch
Need some help. I'm wanting to put a better clutch set up on my revo 3.3. It has the picco .26 max in it. The stock clutch bogged badly so i tried the integy 3 shoe alum. conversion(using stock spring). A little better, but not much. Anybody have suggestions for something else? Maybe adjustable if it will fit. Thanks for any help anybody can give. Also i'm running 16/36 gearing.

Have you tried to shorten the original clutch spring? Cut about 7 coils off the spring, bend the end coil and rehook it back together. This will allow the engine to get to a higher RPM before engaging, you will see a difference.

RE: revo clutch
I have some suggestions. First off, get a 17 tooth clutch bell, as the Picco will pull this gear no problem. I use an M2C clutch, which is set up like a standard buggy/ truggy clutch. It uses aluminum shoes and you have your choice of clutch springs. I run the .95 springs myself. If you try this clutch, you will never go back to the stock setup. When shifting into second gear there is no clutch slippage at all. As a matter of fact, the first time I tried the clutch, I was startled when it shifted cause it just dug in and took off. You can buy this clutch at impaktrc.com (formally Teknorc). You can buy it in kit form and it comes with an assortment of springs. I would suggest buying just the shoes (I use the 6061 med), the modified clutch nut, and the .95 and .9 springs. You will save a couple bucks over buying the kit, and you will most likely never use the 1.0 and 1.05 springs that come in the kit. Start with the .95 springs and as the shoes wear down, switch to the .9 springs. I will make a video of my revo on takeoff and shifting if you would like to see how it launches, and keeps pulling when it shifts, with no slippage or bogging.

Thanks everyone for the help. I like the idea of cutting the spring back joey22. oompwa, As for the M2C clutch, will a integy 17t clutch bell work with it?

i would say use a centax clutch or something like the werks racing power clutch granted no aluminum shoe option but its four shoes (carbon, teflon, and rulon what ever that is) with a center nut that controls spring tension.

The M2C is more economical, and a direct fit on the REVO. You can do it for $22 excluding shipping. The shoe are $12, springs are $4, and flywheel nut is $6. It is adjustable, by using different hardness shoes, and different weight springs, to suit you needs.
