RE: Racing Revo Motor
If you can use a bump start the quoncepts mount is suposabaly the greatest thing ever, but if you need a pullstart or something like that you can get the new era mount.
I voted the os .18tz I have the tm but I heard the tz is a little better. I just find the revo to be overpowered with anything much more thats why im getting an STS 30

RE: Racing Revo Motor
If you are racing at a track then I would stick with the os motor you have, or possible get the .21tm when it becomes available. If you get a big motor like the Picco or Mach you are going to have too much power to handle. You would probably flip on your top coming out of every tight corner. You also have to worry about the damage that those big motors bring to the gears and various other parts.

Ive heard good things about the .21 version. Two people on the HPI forums (46u and Thunderbirdjunkie) have them and they say they run well.[8D] I put my vote in for the .18TZ[8D]

Yes the 21 should be a good motor to run. How big is the track you are going to be runing at? If you have the 18tm now and you dont want a bump start, you could swap the tm crank and backplate on the 18tz(not the tz-tx) so you can use the tz. Its more powerfull then the 18tm and the 3.3 and its still a small block.

RE: Racing Revo Motor
I have both the Picco and the 18TM. I voted 18TM. It is a direct drop in, has more than enough power, and holds a tune. My Picco Revo will crush my 18TM Revo, but then again I have devoted more $, and time into my Picco Revo.

RE: Racing Revo Motor
i voted the RB 523 because the power band is very good, but with particularly good top end power, it has enough low rpm torque to pull wheelies if desired, but is a lot more controllable then the picco because it is a smaller engine and it is tuned to higher rpm range, and the top end is unbeatable (.23) for an engine it's size, on top of that it is a very high quality engine, and it comes with everything needed to install it (engine mount, exhaust pipe and exhaust header)

To stay in the regular MT class w/o going up to UMT, I'd say get the OS 18TZ. I have it on my Revo right now and it's absolutely awesome. I also have the THS racing pipe on it so it works out great. I haven't raced yet though, but that engine definitely has potential. If you were going to race UMT, id say get a Novarossi .21 with a side pipe/CVEC pipe.

RE: Racing Revo Motor
the TM is about the same as the 3.3 in performance, and the TZ is more powerful then the 3.3, and they are widely known facts, the O.S be a .18 compared to the 3.3's .20 doesn't make the 3.3 more powerful.
