rb engines revo
what is the difference between the rb 323 and 523 engine
what i mean is what are the performance differences when actually being in the revo as i can get the rb 323 kit for £70 cheaper than the rb 523
as i went bashing on the rec today and the grass was not long but it was not short either and the revo was struggling a little and there where two savage x 4.6 just going through the grass without any effort
and yes i know how to tune and no the os .18tm is a little bit more than the rb 323 over here in uk
thank you

RE: rb engines revo
the differances are that the 523 is a 9 port engine while the 323 is a 7, the 523 gives a little more bottom end torque then the 323, the 523 also has a larger crankshaft (14.3 mm to 13 mm of the 323), to support the larger crank the 523 also has larger bearings, and to fit them the block has been milled out slightly, the 523 also obviously has a different piston sleeve, and piston, and the head button in the 523 is a turbo head while the 323 is a standard head.
all in all the 323 has been known to have problems with the carby leaking, and being fiddly to tune, while from my experience, the 523 experiences none of this, the 523 has a flatter power band making it more drivable without sacrificing the top end power the engine is designed to make.
this is my revo with the 523 in it (just make sure that your looking at both engines with the kit, RB sells the engines in a kit with the engine mount, pipe and header for either a maxx or revo, you may be looking at just the 323 without this kit which is cheaper then with the kit)

RE: rb engines revo
i'v had troubles with the 23 mm hexes, but thats coz the pro line ones suck, the hex pins keep snapping, i think 17 mm is a better choice then 23's or something other then pro line hexes, and the stock throttle servo will not open the carby all the way, even with an after market one, the servo linkages arnt designed to open the carb that far, i can get a maximum of 95% throttle with the hi tec 625 as my throttle servo.

RE: rb engines revo
sirio si better qualit than the RB, but the 523 makes a little more power. and the .26 max makes all it's power on the low end, completely oposite of the other 2. but if I had to choodw from the 3 I would go sirio .23, picco .26max, then RB523.
