t-maxx runs strange?
i 2was tinkering with my t-maxx and i had the engine out and was looking at the spur gear becasue it was bent and i had that out too. i put everything back in and tightnend the slipper down all the way and back 1/4 turn (which was tighter than before) and now when i drive it it seems to go faster but the engine windes out too early. is this because i tightend the slipper? it was also really hard to start i think i had a bad connection in the ezstart because it would only occasionally fire when i wiggled the wand around a little. it finally started when i was basically shaking the wand back and forth and after turning it over for like 3 or 4 minutes.

Are you useing an ignitor or the blue wire from the ez-start to start the motor.
What do you mean the engine winds out to early? is it bogging out? shifting early? more info please.

Get a new EZ-Start connector... mine was doing the same until I replaced it.

sl gunnel i think i just need to clean the connections more but thanks for the input
and RCanuck, why would the clutch be glazed now and not before i took the spur gear out?
when i say it windes out early i mean it gets up to speed too fast and then it doesnt gain any speed after about 3 or 4 seconds of throttle

its shifting but it seems it doesnt gain any speed after it hits second gear, but it sounds like it is shifting at the right time ( not too early not too late). i replaced the clutch shoes and i am still having trouble

i don't think it's shifting early it shifts at the same point it always does but then right when it shifts it doesnt gain anymore speed. the only adjustments i made was tightening the slipper.

ok i tried running it again now it almost sounds like it hits a rev limiter after it shifts into 2nd ( like in a car when its bouncing off the limiter)

Sounds like a lean condition, back the HSN out just a 16th of a turn or so. Do you check your temp while out bashing? What fuel are you using? Try a colder plug.
