What gear is stripped here?
The sand pit of death claims yet another Revo part.
What gear is stripped here? Don't know if you can see it but the one in the back has half its teeth gone. Was that a reverse gear? Could that have been caused by a bad opti-drive? Want to know because if so, I'll bother Traxxas about it.
I was driving earlier and I'm not sure really how it happened.
I guess I'm doing the FOC sooner than I thought!!
Thnks

RE: What gear is stripped here?
Wow, I didn't think that. I have the exploded view but couldn't figure it out for some reason. I wonder what the heck would have caused that?[:'(]
I'm going to loosen my clutch a bit then I think.
thanks

RE: What gear is stripped here?
It looks like the reverse output gear. Part #5395 includes that gear, the forward gear, and the drive dog or $9. Or if you rarely use reverse, for just under $13 you can pick up a 5394X FOC.
And don't forget to take advantage of the [link=http://www.traxxas.com/support/kb_search.php?action=artikel&cat=147&id=498]Revo Resources[/link] guide, there is a ton of useful information there!
BTW, that looks like an awesome spot to play in! [X(]

Yes, installing the FOC will bring it back to life. It will require the removal of several gears, if you check out the [link=http://www.traxxas.com/PDF-Library/5394XINST%20Revo%20Fwd%20Only.pdf]Forward Only Conversion Instructions[/link] from the online Resources link, it will show you exactly what is removed.
