rb 523 engine mount probs....
ok so went out and bought the rb 523 for my revo 3.3 which doesnt come in its own little kit anymore you have to buy a seperate mount... so the hobby store gave me a traxxas big block mount for it.... well first i had to hack off part of the mount to even get the engine to the spur and now i am trying to mount the little arm thing that is for the throttle control and it doesnt fit right.... the holes that mount it to the engine mount are too far apart.... i cant figure this one out you guys....
ill try and post pics later....

woah man....why would you hack anything off just to get it to fit....that makes no sense at all. I would have marched right back to the Hobby shop and returned everything.

the manager at your LHS is either misinformed or is a liar. and for it to be right you should get the right mount, pipe and header. this is the first RB 523 mounting problem i have heard of...mostly because they should come with all that stuff to make mounting a breeze.

Personally, I would take the engine back and get the kit. It comes with the correct mount, a new header and a tuned pipe that matches the RB. If not, then do as suggested above. I also had to adjust my throttle linkage even with the full kit.

RE: rb 523 engine mount probs....
i reccomend to anyone who doesnt have lots of expirence with engines to never buy an RB...i used to think they customer serive was great but it blows. i sent my engine to "kevin"(hes their entire US customer service) on march 7th i believe...here it is almost 3 weeks later and i have heard no word. the engine could be in china for all i know. he never informs you with anything and when he does answer hes nice and everything, its just impossible to get hold of him. btw i've sent 2 emails about a week apart with no replies.
