house drill start
ive started using a drill to start my picco up with, i take the bearing put it in the end of the drill and tighten the drill head onto the bearing then slot it onto the starter shaft, could eanything bad happen by doing this./

yes
a drill has lots pf torque
and if the engine floods
you can break internal engine parts
but, if you set the drill on a lower clutch setting
it will slip and not hurt the motor

I used the same technique on my RS4's for as long as I had them. I put my one way in a socket and ran a adapter from the drill to the socket instead of putting the bearing right into the drill. I never had any problems, but I could foresee a lot of dirt and stuff getting into the bearing the shaft comes through in the back plate.

we use an electric drill on the savavages roto start. Id becareful of any binding. we set the drill to a lower speed and it also has a setting to sleep when its to tight.
