Believe it or not, they will. Especially if your tuning skills are poor or you have engine starting problems. Hope you never have to find out but most that use pull starts do, at one time or another. I know that have. But it really will sharpen your tuning skills.

I am sort of wondering why you are asking why people don't like pull start and what can go wrong with them, it is a little late lol since you already bought one.

if you know how to start a pull start within a few tugs they are fine and the blisters arent that bad all I use is pull starts and all together ive put 10 gallons on my revos 2.5 and somewhere in the neighborhood of 40 gallons over my nitro life Ive only ever gotten 1 blister that was from trying to start the 2.5 with a clogged fuel line but tell u what they hurt bad.

I myself prefer the pull start. but ive been seriously considering putting the easy start back on. I dont really wanna carry the starter and charger and what not if i travel with my truck.

The only problem I've had with my pullstart is from using 30% and the one-way bearing fails and has to be taken out and cleaned. I switched to another fuel and it's good to go.

Sullivan Tiger drive.

The pull-start sting breaks, and when you take it apart to fix it, the spring flys out and strangles you.

My pull start lasted about 2 days starting the diesel.

Will that really happen? I am currently running 30% and considering getting a pull start... Will I really have to clean the bearing? Why?

Thanks

I meant to say that with the Traxxas 33% the one way bearing has to be cleaned because of the high oil content but when I switched to 30% I had no problem. Sorry for the typo.

I just got a new 3.3 from traxxas (waranty $0.00) and I am trying out the pull start. During break in I got one small blister. It is almost healed now but it did sting just like most blisters do. Since break in I have found that if I prime it real good (but not flood it) and turn the idle trim knob up a bit it fire up in 1 or 2 pulls most the time. This si a new engine so I can't say about weight saving but this new engine is screaming like a scalded ape. Wheelies are insane and often. The other night I was getting down to the end of a tank so I let Spec T drive it out and he rode the longest wheelie I have ever seen in person or video. Wing never touched the ground. He nailed froma stop on pavement and it spun for a second then the front end started coming up he let off for a split second when it was straight up then he kept it up for about 6 or 7 blip blip blips and then it hit second gear and he held it wide open and rode it out. It was just about top speed when the wheels laid down. I would say it was a good 70 foot wheelie. Sickest wheelie ever! We need to keep a camera rolling at all times

Any way I am okay with the pull start so far but we will see the first time i am out of tune or have a plug start to go. I do not anticipate enjoying tugging that rope for more than a few pulls.
