How hot can the Revo get before you should stop?
My brother's Savage should stay less than 250F he was told. How hot should the Revo 3.3 get before I do some tuning or stop running it? and let it cool down.

Traxxas says that 270 is max and 240 - 250 is optimum.

Personally, I think that tuning by temps is a waste of time. Temps change due to way too many variables for it to be a reliable method. Learning to tune the engine for perfoemance is the best for your engine and, you'll find, it's best for you too. If you must use a temp guage then use it sparingly and only to verify that the engine is within a normal range. The range I use is 220f - 280f. That range is a good rule of thumb for most nitro engines and as long as the engine is performing well any temp in that range is fine.

-Does the Revo come with a built in temp guage?

depends on the oil used in the fuel. certain oils burn off at higher temps...i think castor oil doesnt burn off till about 310...i found my 3.3 ran best at about 270.

Well I have seen engine's hit pretty high, Ive personally seen engine's hit as high as 375f but the engine did not run after that particular run. These engine's can hit a really high number's, but as DaveG55 said temps arent really the best way to tune for. But usually 230-280 is good for most engine's.

To agree with above, my old 2.5r wouldn't even run right below 250, no matter how much tuning you did. It just wouldn't do it. So it ran about 260-270, under racing conditions.
But it never held a tune anyways.
