The maxx was a cool truck when it came out, but a lot has changed since then.

That nice shiny chrome resonator pipe doesn't do much good when you still have those embarrassing weak plastic bulks with non captured hinge pins.

The maxx was my first RC vehicle and will always have a special place in my heart, But with that said, I personally don't understand why anyone would consider a maxx when a Revo is such a significantly better truck.....in every respect....better basher, better racer, more durable, better parts(better shocks, two steering servos, etc). I don't understand why traxxas is spending any R&D on this truck when consumers IMHO would rather have a new vehicle like a truggy than fresh lipstick on a pig. just my 2cents.

Yall realy need to get over that the T-Maxx isn't like the same as the older vrs, a lot of upgrades Traxxas has done to this truck to better it and with Aluminum bulkheads and skid plates in the Maxx it will out bash the revo BY FAR so you guys can get over it, when you put down the T-Maxx your putting down the Revo because there all made by the same company TRAXXAS.

also this post scares me then a dodge omni and viper are the same right? or what about a chevy aveo and a corvette? also you shouldnt have to put a aluminum bulkhead on a truck look at most every RC car most do not need aluminum bulkheads. Tmaxx does though... no matter how much you polish a turd. the Tmaxx needs alot of R and D to be done right, the revo is better but there are still some things to it that are upsetting such as the motor mount....

no one has mentioned yet that it's a forward only truck
no reverse for this Maxx
wonder if that means no opti-drive too?
also, are we sure that the bulks have not been beefed up too
i didn't see them specifically mentioned but ???????????

Okay I see they added the resonator pipe and added the center skid plate and a large volume air filter, LOL the funny thing Is I got a free resonator pipe from Traxxas when I got my T-Maxx and I allready added afull aluminum skid plates to mine so I geuss I didnt think of them being different , BUT that only goes to show you Revo guys There making the Maxx better and Better.

First, even with alum bulks, hinge pins are easily bent since they are NOT captured.... only real fix is the UE VBS.... which that alone costs as much as a brand new revo.

Maxx will out bash a Revo...... based on what??... your daydreaming about the maxx being better.

The UNDENIABLE FACT is the revo suspension is FAR more versatile.... swapping out the rocker arms the revo suspension changes from a very long travel rock crawler to a competent racer. Versatility that the maxx can't even dream about. In addition the revo suspension has far more race adjustments like adjustable roll center, etc.

The revo has better ground clearance.

The Revo has better shocks.... not the plastic crap found on the maxx

The Revo has better diffs..... not the weak crappy ones found on the maxx.

The Revo's body posts are significantly stronger........ not like the weak maxx post that bend and have to be replaced frequently.

Just because the maxx and revo are both made by traxxas means nothing. Traxxas studied the many shortcomings of the maxx, fixed them and then some with creation of the Revo.

As I say before, the maxx was my first RC and will always be special to me...... but to try and pretend that maxx is as good as the revo is just insane. Its like saying a 1981 corvette is just as good as a 2007 corvette. I mean they're both made by chevrolet LOL

I did have an old school maxx that morphed into a SuperMaxx in my attempts to remove all the weakspots.LOL Yes I understand the maxx has improved over the years.......MOSTLY BY PUTTING REVO PARTS ON THE MAXX LOL But the items I listed above are still true for the newest version of the maxx. You can put as much lipstick on that pig as you want.... but the glaring design flaws are still there!

With regards to ground clearance I was referring to like rock crawling or something like that, not just the static measurements.

Please explain to me why both the 2.5 classis maxx and the 3.3 maxx have the same ring gear trx# 4981 and the Revo ring gear is trx#5379x ....... I guess you don't want a little thing like the facts get in the way of a good story

EDIT: I haven't yet seen the specs on the new maxx, It makes sense the diffs would be updated since the new E has them, if thats the case I stand corrected.

I will agree that the maxx is much improved..... and how are they improving it ...... with Revo parts. That should tell ya something right there LOL..... you don't see any maxx parts on the revo now do ya.............

ya that;s the version before the new one. i saw you say that u already had one and i was like how does he have one...they're not out yet. then i saw u were talking about the older tmaxx 3.3 haha

it looks like traxxas is trying to make the tmaxx the same as the revo with different suspension. IMO
