How to waterproof the Revo 3.3?
Hi,
I am tired of removing the electronics everytime I clean my Revo in the shower. So now I want to make the electronics waterproof.
I've seen many threads and links in the forum on how to waterproof the servos but how do you waterproof the receiver?
- Do you also plasticdip the crystal? or glue it? [sm=confused.gif]
- Another issue I cannot figure out is that the black protecting boxes (the one to the left with the throttle+shifting servo and the one to the right with the receiver, optidrive and battery) have many wholes where water easily can get inside. Do you do anything in special with waterproof these boxes or you just waterproof the servo + receiver + battery)?
- May be it ss a good idea to make a whole at the bottom of the black boxes so water can get out again?
Any recommendations are welcome.

Any recommendations on how to waterproof the receiver and whether I should do anything with the "black protection boxes"? [sm=confused.gif][sm=confused.gif][sm=confused.gif]

Thanks. That link explains how to waterproof the servos what I was thinking about the receiver.
And what about the "black boxes" which protect the electronics. Is it possible to waterproof them somehow? Maybe it doesn't make sense?

just get som denatured alcohol. I understand the shower is free but servos are not. Or atleast save up for and electric screew driver so you can take your electonics off.
If my wife caught me in the shower with my truck.

... i don't have a revo but usually to water proof the receiver you place it inside a balloon and zip tie it off and if you feel you need some extra protection you can put a dab of silicone where the wires enter the balloon.

I've already placed the battery in a balloon and seems to work quite well.
