Default THS on an OS?

I've brought this up a couple of times and now I'm stuck on it. I have a THS pipe and a new OS TM .21 engine. The OS comes with a header made for the stock pipe from the 3.3 engine. The THS header will not fit over the exhaust on the OS engine. The OS header and THS pipe will not work together. One is connected by a rubber boot and the other by 3 little springs. Can I make this work or not? If not is the OS good on the resonator revo pipe? If not which pipe do I want?? LOL I'm confused now myself. I want something good for low to mid range power. The THS was wicked on the 3.3 so thats what I'm looking for out of the OS engine. I need to figure out what I'm doing soon becouse thats all thats stopping me from doing the break in. Thanks for your help as always.

You guys know anything about the BUKu pipes? They are 109.00 and are shown used on a 3.3 or OS .21.

well buku pipes are the best pipes for more power across the rpm range. if the os header and ths pipe form a seal then i would try to rig up some sort of way to hold them together. ths does have a bunch of headers on their web page but i have no clue which...if any would fit the os tm. try emailling them?

i know ths has a header to fit the .21tm. i use their head, but im not sure which one cause it came in the box with the pipe, and mines for a t-maxx not a revo. not sure why there would be a difference.

Default RE: THS on an OS?

Update. Between my Dad being in the hospital a week ago and then my daughters birthday I finally got to work on the OS and THS set up tonight. I used the THS header and pipe along with the rubber gasket that OS had with the motor that goes over the exhaust outlet and got it together. It took a little oil to lube the gasket and a little patience while working on it and it went together. I installed my new shocks from a platinum revo that I bought and tomorrow I'll go to my LHS and buy a wire to make a new exhaust hanger that will mount to the chassis instead of the stock position and I'll be ready to break it in. Thanks to you guys for the comments, they always help.

Heat cycle. Its takes less time and works much better.

http://www.rcuniverse.com/magazine/a...article_id=397

http://www.johnnycoolguy.com/JCGR/ma..._break-in.html

I've used a mix of both of those articles. If you do that method, make sure you have someone else timing how long your heat cycles last. It gets kinda hard controlling the truck, taking temps, and watching how long you've been heat cycling. If you kno what I mean.

Good reading, I've never done it that way but have heard of it. Maybe I'll go ahead and give it a shot on this one. Thanks.

I too would go just by the book for engine break-in because at least ya know its way of doing it that has been tried already by the mfr. of the engine(in this case OS). Either way, good luck with it man....hope things go smoothly for ya....[8D]

I just got home from my LHS. I have to make my new exhaust hanger and I'm good to go. My friend just bought one of my 35% cardens and he is on his way over so I'm not sure when I'll get the Revo out now. I hope today.

lol, the Carden is the best of the best as far as a kit built airplane goes. I had 2 and sold them both. I hated to but I did. Now I'm only flying smaller stuff. The Cardens that I flew were 104" wing span with 100cc gas engine.
