Default revo 3.3

I have a revo 3.3 and I was thinking about changing the trans out and put a one speed conversion kit in it. What do you think about that?[8D][8D][8D]

That would not make sense to put a 1-speed transmission because I don't believe there are any companies out there that make a single speed at least that I am aware of; and not just that; if u put a 1-speed trans in; it would change the gear ratios and would also make it slower in terms of overall top speed. That simply does not make sense because a majority of people are looking for MORE power and MORE SPEED!! so why would u want to do that is my?[:-]

There is a mod for single speed. Either on this forum or Traxxas forum. It for racing on tracks with high HP motors that have alot of torque and can pull second gear like it was first. First then becomes useless and not needed. Also you'll pick up acceleration from less mass in the tranny.( with first gear out) I personally love my speed and the sound it makes everytime it shifts.

Im with kasarn on this one; I too like the way it sounds when it shifts; as far as why u would need it for just backyard bashing, u are just better off overall leaving the 2-speed in because it gives it a bit more power, etc to climb over things as well as better speed....

Throw this in there http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXHGG6 and rip that opti-crap module out! Just go to your local hobby shop and ask them to install a forward only kit on your revo. Also ask them to remove the opti drive,
The FOC (forward only conversion) is a top upgrade for sure, it will give you better acceleration and less to worry about
traxxas dual stage air filter
Revo wing mount and wing
Better engine(picco .26 red dot)
better tires/wheels
Better radio (futaba 3pm)

what upgrades to do on a revo 3.3
Well, if u are really "inclined" to do so, u could upgrade the 3.3 to a big block for more power etc; but obviously thats just a decision u will have to make for urself. Also, if u have not already thought about it, upgrade the a-arms, bulkheads, etc. to RPM parts because while the stock parts are tough themselves, rpm parts are even tougher, and besides that they have a lifetime replacement warantee on them if they ever break. I would also maybe look into possibly getting some better off-road tires and different wheels as another possibility...these are just a few upgrades u can do.....the list goes on from here....[8D]

As to the radio and receiver part of the ?; yes, u do usually have to change the receiver if u change the radio; especially when it comes to the 2.4ghz spektrum systems; as those receivers have NO crystals to change or dials to change....
