Default Novak Havok 8.5 in a stampede please help

So I picked up a 8.5 havok BL set up from the LHS last night for my stampede, had THEM toss on some deans for the battery as well.

Now the truck came with an 18t pinion and 90t spur gear. Im powering the it with a 6 Cell IB42000 pack. The truck is fast as hell, however it is cogging. It seems to Cog while under throttle during turning and taking off some times. Is it possible for a censored BL set up to cog. I was also getting minor glitching, well not so minor it drove it self into a wall.

Now im not sure where to start, my TX displayed a 9.8 volts out of a possible 12volts. So it may be that the TX was low, but would this cause the cogging.

I assume it could be my battery packs(I only got to try one fully charged pack) however I run these packs while the truck was brushed with no problems and in my BL drifter with no problems.

I checked for binding , everything seems to be rolling smoothing with no resistance

I thought it could be the throttle curve setting, so I switched it from expo to liner , the problem stayed the same, although I think it felt better with the liner setting, so that’s where I left it.

Now on to gearing, I would assume this would be the most likely culprit. What would be a good gear ratio for this truck, its running the praline masher 2000 so the tires are large. Right now the truck is geared at 18t/90t or a 5:1 ratio I think. Is the pinion to large, altho I tried a 14t and it basically did the same thing however this is when it glitch and broke it self so I really didn’t get chance to try it out much more.

And I guess last could it be possible I just got a bad unit from the factory.

Oh and does cogging harm the motor or ESC

Thanks guys
