has anyone tried to put a brushless in a summit yet? and if you did how did it effect the crwling aspect of the truck? what brushless did you use, what batteries and what top speed are you getting?

doesn't novak mae a brushless system for crawling? i think the idea is the efficiency rather than brutal speed and diff crunching torque.
yep i found it

If they had a waterproof super-class goat I might try that, I really like the control of the goat, but the standard goat I fear the motor is too small and not waterproof.

RE: traxxas summit brushless
that novak could be pretty cool. i am not into crawling a whole lot but i like the concept of the summit being both. i have talked to 2 different hobby stores about brushless. one says that if you go brushless you lose torqe on crawling, but, the other said his friend put in a brushless and he gets about 45 mph and better torque when crawling. so i am wondering if anyone else has done it and how it effects the truck. i aslo heard about the t lock problem but i would think that if your going brushless then you would be very careful how and when you use the t locks.

1: the t-lock is breaking because of driver error, you have to be at a stop to engage and then go real slow until they engage
2:the first batch of summits has faulty t-locks and i think traxxas has fixed that problem

RE: traxxas summit brushless
I just dropped a castle mamba monster into my summit. This is now a whole different truck. In it's low gear, it handles well. But in high gear IT's a rocket almost doubling in speed.
