RE: Tell me what you think
how bout putting those badlands on HALF- UPS. looks awsome.....i guess you run a BB, i suggest a high end pipe to get the most out of your motor, even with a high end pipe you will have enough tourqe to throw it on its lid...just look at the savages

Its a mid block, picco .26 red dot and i heard that the 053 was best for the powerband. The badlands dont fit on the badlands i thought?

RE: Tell me what you think
53 is for more low end power. 86 if for a higher peak power( some one confirm this) you can strech badlands on half ups.. im just saying high end is more usefull for the traxxas trucks,,if you hade a heavy savage, the you would want the 53

Thought so. I would use low end more than top end power, i climb hills and hit jumps so i think i will keep the 053, yes the 086 is for high end.

RE: Tell me what you think
according to the dyno, the trinty has the advantage off the line. then after 15,000 rpm the 53 whoops it. but im guessing your rpm would be over 15k when your hill climbing. i think

RE: Tell me what you think
i bet you on a dyno that a PE header and modded chrome resonator will kill a trinity! what dyno do you get all this wonderfull info from?
the 053 is prolly the best suited pipe for this motor and is the most reccomended. if you had a dyno and a bunch of different pipe/header set's and spare nitro you'd prolly find a pipe or header that may be better but no one has done this yet, that i know of anyway....
why only 2 badland's? if you mount them on Rulux's i can almost guarantee you will have a hard time keeping the bead's glued. i had issues when gluing MT tire's onto standard MT rim's and running with the picco, they NEVER stayed on! now i run MT size beadlock's and never have any issues with bead's coming loose/off....

RE: Tell me what you think
tire prep is essential to a good bond, i run badlands on rulux wheels and they are fully glued even with 5 gal. through them.......oh, the dyno info on ab mods.

Absolute... where are you hearing 053 is the best? Just wondering. I seem to remember adam recommending the 086 for the red dot/picco maxx a while back.
As far as needing that bottom end, you don't. I couldn't run my slipper 1/8 turn from tight with a mild pipe and stock 2.5 header on the .26 maxx. That motor is know for it's low end balls and will have more then you can use with no matter what pipe you go with.
Alot of guys on the savage forums are saying bottom end does improve with 053 but it's a pretty big sacrifice on the top end over the 086. That is on BB's though.

RE: Tell me what you think
Lots of people on the forums have the 053 or recommend the 053. I have a center diff so i am losing quite a bit of low end. I dont need top end that much.

ab mods web site.. they have dyno graphs of the picco. on the red dot the 53 acually help the mid to top end alot

I don't see any comparison to the 086 though... That graph is comparing the 053 to the trinity pipe.
I guess we won't know for sure until someone tries both or we get a comparison from adam.

RE: Tell me what you think
true, but the graph shows a huge gain from mid to top....i guess its different then you would think. i guess cause the .26 has BB displacement with a sb exhaust

RE: Tell me what you think
I've tried my 053 on my red dot today, and i'am not impressed at all[&o]
The MACS pipe did'nt make alot of improvement too.
So tonight i'll install back the Trynity (side mount withan Ofna DM-1 manifold) and see if i can see better performance.
My old revo with a .18TZ was a screamer with this pipe.
I'am a little disapointed by the performance of my red dot, and i realy think to go back to the OS .18TZ.[]
