I use a Venom 7-Cell 8.4V 4200maH battery. Some don't like them but I have had good ones. My rustler (vxl) pulls wheelies and is pretty fast with that battery. Run time is a about 10+ mins (thats with a VXL motor though).

steer clear of venom batteries. few are good ones, and they wont hold their charge for very long
