Default Exhaust Deflector

Got me a used Classic T-Maxx a few weeks ago and have spent my time doing a frame up cleaning, rebuild and repair. Nearing completion I'm about to mount on the exhaust deflector and am looking for some opinions on which way is the best direction to point the deflector.
As I'm sure there are pros and cons to both the up or down positions I'd like to hear some thoughts on the subject...
Thanks,
Rob.

I prefer to point it down, on my 2.5 maxx it points to the side and the oil makes a mess on the chassis
and suspension, sorta coats everything. just my opinion!

Default RE: Exhaust Deflector

I have mine to the side as well... sure it makes a mess but thats life with these... I tried a rear exhaust and it ran like garbage... my pipe doesn't point down, but the original one probably did, there is a hole for it.. My friend ran his that way and it worked fine, but really coated the bottom of the truck.. Only downside to the side exhaust is the oil can get on the right rear tire and make it a bit slippery... you really notice it on pavement, but its not that big a deal... both ways work (performance wise) the same...
