Default THROTTLE KILL FOR TWIN ENGINE

I am not sure if this is the right spot, but I am putting together an VQ Models A-26 Invader with twin Saito 56's. I am also using a Futaba 9c radio. Does anybody know how to make the throttle cut work when using 2 channels for the engine servos? I know that I could use a y-harness but then I wouldn't be able to adjust the motors from the radio. Right now I have AUX-1 slaved to the throttle channel to make the servos work.

Any suggestions?

I've never owned a Futaba, but on my JR 10SX and ACE MicroPro the slaved channel does, in this case whatever the Throttle does.

try posting this in the Twin's Forum. I think "Twinman" does a lot twin throttle mixing with Futaba radios. Seems to have good idea of what does and does not work.

how to make the throttle cut work
Right now I have AUX-1 slaved to the throttle channel to make the servos work.
I have worked out a scheme with a 652 JR but the airplane did not have gear or flaps and I used those switches and set an offset. It is cool to roll into the pits and shut down first #3 then # 2 and then #1.

On my 8UAP the throttle cut is simply an offset to low throttle. It looks like either G or H switch could be used for throttle kill. Doesn’t the slaved channel follow the offset to the throttle channel? Let me know your progress. If you have trouble I will find a spare receiver and experiment.

Hi Bill,

Yeah, I figured it out tonight after reading some of your posts. The throttle kill was set on switch g in the down position, I set channel 7 to switch g. I then readjusted my idle positions on the servo and now I hit the g switch and both engines kill together. I supposed I could make it a different switch if I wanted to set up like you. Thanks for the info.

This is my first twin.

Glad you got the throttle kill figured out.

There is an amazing amount of very good information in Twinman’s Twin Advisor pages at:

Bills
I am humbled in your presence. Thank you for the vote of confidence. As I have said before, I have made most of the mistakes possible on twins and just want to help others avoid the same mistakes.

You are correct so often that it is scary. I have certainly appreciated the advice and wealth of information at Twin Advisor. Whatever they are paying you is not enough. Ha.

Thanks

Didn't you get your 24% cost-of-living increase? I got mine.

But of course, 24% of nothing...

George:

I still have all my hair. But I grew so fast the hair couldn't keep up, and my head poked out the top. If you don't believe that just look at the picture. My head actually outran my hair, and the hair came out the bottom of my head.

Haw.
