Thanks much to Robby, Twin Moderator for helping me wth all the promo on RCU and driving all the way from Illinois.

And also to Rick for all his help and entertaining the crowd with masterful demo's of Bill Wikes' Twin Synch system on his giant DC-3

Any ideas on how to promote better attendance?

I'm very relieved to report nobody's landing gear was damaged by our runway surface. A combination of good flying and hard-rolling.

See ya here next year!

mark,
i think the principal of the multi engine meet is a great idea, but i think the problem with attendance might of been a victim of the weather. with the forcast of 20mph winds with gusts of 30mph and a forcast of rain for the afternoon i myself made the tough decision to stay home.
i very badly wanted to bring my zirolli p-38 and had everything ready to go, but with the forcast and a 6 hour drive roundtrip i thought i had better not risk the drive.

i am looking forward to the meet next year and it will be on my calendar when it is announced.

Mike:

Your California Cutie is an awesome 38, and you were sorely missed.

Yes, wind conditions were rough. Gusts to 42 mph, although straight down the runway. The previous 5 days had been PERFECT !

Oh, well.......

See ya next year. Will announce and advertise much earlier.

Mark is being a bit modest here....
He was a very gracious host and he and the 'yellow shirts' did one
heck of a job making sure everyone was welcomed... Ok,, so it
was a little windy,, big deal.. Good way to try out or improve ones
flying skills..
Sandy Annett did a bang up job offering up lunch of BBQ pork,
some super beans, drinks and chips.. Plus all the cookies and
pasties..
The field is very easy to find and Marks directions were great..
More than ample runway even for large scale planes and one
heck of a large fly over area.. Approach was extremely simple
as it is open for a long ways plus they had out small orange cones
to mark the center for us dummies who have never flown there
prior... Everyone there went home with something besides just
having a great time.. Anything from tubing bender, fuel, CA to
a very deserving Jim Mattke taking home a NIB Dual Ace...

This event is a MUST attend so,,, those of you who didn't make
it,,, make plans to be there next year...

Mark,, you and the yellow shirts did a fantastik job,, THANKS..

The DVD is ready!!

I'm mailing it out to all pilots, as promised, tomorrow.

Thanks to Denny for his tireless efforts to get it produced. I hope y'all enjoy the narration. I (modestly) believe Denny and I are the Howard Cossell, Don Meredith of our RC generation. (Whoever doesn't understand that joke should ask your dad)

As per my philosophy of RC, I showed the Good, the Bad and the Ugly, not just the perfect landings.

Thanks again to all who attended and all who assisted, but especially the guys who had the True Grit to fly in that wind.

See Y'all (and more, I hope) Next Year!!
