Wow, this comes as a shock.
I never knew him personally, but his help was tremendous in progressing my projects to the next stage.
I will miss his in-site and knowledge.

That is awful! I guess the fire did more to him than destroy his belongings.
He was a great guy and will be missed.
I will remember him in my prayers.
God rest his soul.

OMIGawd!!! I didn't make the connection til just now...He went by William on the forums here, and that is how I knew him... I briefly read the thread about the fire, but did not connect who Bill Robinson was.......
Man! He is going to be missed around here!! He was very knowlegeable about both full scale and models and never hesitated to offer a helping hand to anybody (look at the number of posts he had!!). At the same time he was feisty enough to debate anyone - he and I had a couple of good ones! Never met him, but I had great respect for him and I always enjoyed reading what he had to say.
He leaves a huge vacancy here, but hopefully he is at peace now...... Tailwinds always, Bill !!!!!

RE: Bill Robinson
Yesterday I spoke with Bobby Franks who was helping Bill put together a plane right before his home buring down and his being admitted into the hospital. He told me a little history about Bill. Bill Robison had been a pilot in the Airforce and then went on to fly for Air America. He said that Bill most likely had a cancer. He had become vey emaciated and probably the stress of having his home burn down may have been too much in his already weakened state. I will remember Bill as a great pilot and someone who never hesitated to help another pilot or modeler. He leaves us with some rather large boots to fill.

I never met Bill or knew him personnally but his discussions and keen insight with our hobby is a huge knowledge loss. Personnally my sympathies to his family and friends.

RE: Bill Robinson
Sorry to read of his passing away. A few months ago we crossed a couple of emails on my SAITO engine and he always replied to my emails within a short period of time.
I am sorry for his loss as this came as a shock to me.
Condolences to his family and friends. My thoughts and prayers are with him.
What a pity
Reuben

Man this comes as a horrible shock to me. Bill was truely one of my favorite people here on RCU. I don't read or respond here on RCU like I used to, so I'm glad I read today and can do the only thing I can do to pay my respects to this wonderful individual.. He loved the F7F tiger cat and had done many of them over the years. We traded a few PM's last year, and I really enjoyed his conversations. I remeber seeing one of the planes he had done in MAN and we had a PM conversation about that also.
GODSPEED my friend. Whenever I get around to doing that F7F tirgercat you can bet the pilot's name on the side will be "William Robison".. RIP my friend RIP

This is such terrible news. I had wondered why my last several emails to him had gone unanswered. I am at a loss for words.
So Long Bill.

RE: Bill Robinson
They did a story on Air America
He must have been a very special and qualified pilot.
I really think that is where I heard the name from.
