This has got to be the best idea ever.
I'm going to put together two arf's. Probably a pair of Uprar .40's.
I'm going to build them exactly the same.
Same engines, props, servos, everything.
Then I'm going to put the same receiver crystal in each of the receivers, so that they'll both respond exactly the same, at the same time, to my transmitter.
Then I can do perfect formation flying with them.
Right?

I'd pay to see it! Not only would you crash one because you only can concentrate on one at a time but you'll crash the other watching the first one crash!!!!!

Gonna need about a 50 gallon size bag I would think. I wish you luck, but I don't think I would risk my hard earned money
attempting it.
I suggest you do something like this. See picture attached. I have a twin made out of 2 Four* Forty's, running Evolution 46"s with 10 x 6 MAS props. I hope to maiden in July. Still putting the final touches on it.

Bosch232,
Just try to get them both trimmed exactly the same. Think about it, one rolls slightly to the left while the other rolls slightly to the right. I agree with Safebet. A 50 gallon bag would probably work...............don't leave home without it!

Not a good idea at all! How on earth do you think that you can line these planes up perfectly in the first place? You may make them to that they are both facing the same way before take off but do you really think they are going to go exactly straight or both turn exactly the same way at exactly the same time.
A minute difference will quickly add up to a big one and then you will find yourself trying to fly 2 separate planes on 1 transmitter. Sounds pretty dangerous to me!
Also remember that you will never be able to build 2 planes EXACTLY the same. They would both need individual trim and you simply cant do that if trimming one plane is going to set the other off.

Hi guys,
How about flying 4 at once? Have you seen this? It is actually one plane made of 4 small ones connected by dowels, Front plane has engine, L&R are ailerons, and rear has the elevators. In flight it looks like a formation, rolls loops etc... look cool. It belongs to a guy in aneighboring club who also has the other oddities pictured here.

Evan: Great looking plane. I really like your color scheme. Give us some specs on it, type, etc. and have you flown it yet?

I built it from two Tower kaos 40 kits. Alot of modifying other then combining them to make them look like the old Bridi kaos's. Any way they have old OS .46 SF's one counterrotating, one normal. One set of radio gear in each fuse (one aileron, elevator, rudder, and throttle servos and battery switch reciever in each fuse). Flys excellent. It's 7, 8, or so years old and has hundreds of flights on it.

Safebet...
Ok, looking a bit closer, I see you have ROUND cowels on those four stars.
That's different. Are they home-jobbers?
And how did you decide on the amount of "middle wing" to leave in there?
Did you let the tail surface dictate that?
