Default method to carry plane to field

i live less than a mile from where i fly. taking the 310 apart is a pain has anyone ever bungee corded a palne the the top of their van.

i only would be driving a minute and would go slow. Any ideas

hey timothy, well if you haul it upside down or backwards it would be okay Im sure, but if you put it up on the roof rightside up and facing forwards you may run into some problems with the lift from the wings..

I know I have seen lots of photos over the years with large models strapped to the roof of cars. Especially in Europe where they mostly drive sub-compacts.

I think you could mount it on the roof right side up, just throw a towel over the wings to prevent them from creating lift.

Slow speeds should be OK, you'll have the airflow going up and over the plane anyway. If there is no turbulence the plane will think its flying as long as the angle of attack is parallel to air flow. Turbulence will beat it around though so keep your speed slow, 45 or so max.
