Chris Golds 90" Lancaster (Help Req)
Calling Anyone who has built a 90" Chris Golds Lanc from scratch. I need to pick someones brain. I am now at the point in construction where being a first time builder is causing me problems. I'll quickley make a list below of the probs i'm having and if anyone can help please feel free to reply to this post or email me direct.
*how do you go about attaching the nacelles to the ming structures securley?
*what is the best material to cover the wings/fusealarge in?
*how do you attach the canopys and glass work
*would 4 Enya Supersport 25's be powerful enough to fly the beast
these are my main problems at the minute but i'm sure there will be more.
Also if anyone has a photographic building record from when they built they're lanc I would be very grateful to see it.
Many Thanks
Steve.

here goes attach the nacelles with slow drying epoxy 30 minute or longer.
the original used kraft paper and elmers glue,i used heavy silkspan and glue but this was years ago.now I would use lightweight fiberglass cloth (3/4 - 1 oz) and polyurethane.
I used epoxy in a mixture of micro ballons to make a paste ,had the clear part masked off and applied the mixture where the frame would be,after curing sanded it smooth till it was even with the masking tape to looke like framework.
the enya's should be fine I used 4 fox 25's with no problem.

Hi Aerowolf,
many thanks on the fast reply. Which epoxy is safe to use with the Foam? from my understanding Epoxy eats foam?
is the polyurethane glue a standard PVA?
do you have any pictures of your build as pointers?
Cheers again

epoxy hear in the states is safe with foam the polyurethane i was referring to for applying the glass cloth is a oil based paint for finishing woodwork,it dries almost as hard as polyester resin and fibeglass cloth but is lighter and easier to apply.
