Default Twin Uproar

Here's my latest project. It's a twin Uproar. I had to find a home for my 25s after the "Twinstar Disaster" (see avitar) and this is it.
Tower had sent out an advertisement a few years ago with a picture of a guy who had done this and I thought it looked like fun.

The wing is 50" and was built in 3 sections. I started to use the wing panels that were on the plans but after joining the wing it looked a little big at 59" (11" center section). At that point I cut off one wing bay and ended up with the current wing.

The tail section was modified to accomodate the twin booms and there she sits.

It weighs about 3 pounds as you see it. I still need to drop in the servos (7), control rods, and cover a hatch on the bottom. I suppose I'll go ahead and cover it to help it fly a little better. I hope to keep it around 5 pounds total.

Tim,

I did a similar project with two Uproar 60’s and it flys great. I think you will enjoy the results of your efforts. Keep posting pictures as you progress.

I also decided to add a center fuselage so I could use retractable tricycle landing gear. When do you expect to finish and get it in the air?

TCBLightning, I like that, it's very cool looking. I think you should build a second one and let me have it. ;-) Do you ever fly in the Dallas area? I'd love to see that thing fly.

Thanks for the feedback gentlemen.

Kelley, I had seen your thread earlier and thought the retracts were a great idea but wanted to keep this one simple. I have a Duellist that I'm working on, the retracts are in that.

Beardking, wish I had the time to build a second one! I don't get to do much flying outside of the San Antonio area.

I'll do my best to add a few pictures as I progress through the covering and flying stages.

Increadable idea! i just recently finished a tower uproar 40. this looks like great fun. I think i should try it. Also the retracts are a very nice plus, never would have thought of that!
