nice pic, thanks for sharing.
I am wondering if it has retracts and if so could you get better ones installed to give it a better look

The Honda Jet comes with Fixed Gear (including Steerable Nose Gear) they make provisions for retracts in the kit ( Retracts sold separate ). [sm=spinnyeyes.gif]My buddy and I just picked up a set of two (Can you say [sm=shades_smile.gif]"Formation Flying"[sm=shades_smile.gif]. A really NICE KIT!. Construction is planned to start after we acquire the rest of the mechanical pieces (after Christmas & the New Year).
This is my third Kit from Nitro Models. Really good value for the buck.
I have a Nitro Models .60 size P51 and the .90 size Corsair (Both with retracts).[sm=wink_smile.gif]
Both are all ready to fly.
Merry New Year & Happy Christmas to ALL

Lose the rudder servo on the fin PLEASE - how can anyone dirty such a sweet plane with a black box hanging off the fin I'll never know........as for the servo/pushrod/hinge line geometry....[X(][:'(]
Servo in rear fuse, to internal bellcrank in fin - pushrod 90 deg to hinge line - much better all round.
Cam (the grump)

I wonder if this could be converted to EDF - is anybody thinking of doing that?

There's a guy in new york, goes by the name of EasyTiger, he purchased one with the hope of EDF... unfortunately the cowls are too small to fit fans that could provide enough thrust... now a good enough modeler could possible re-design the nacels... but that would take a lot of work.

camdyson - do you have a photo of that set-up for the rudder servo and control? Sounds like a good idea - my plane is on the way and I am doing my research to be ready for the build.
any other build suggestions on this one?

RE: Nitro Models NEW Honda HA-1 Jet ARF
Hello,
I´m Peter from Germany and this is my first post in this nice forum.
Yesterday I bought this Honda plane to supply it with two Kolibri-microturbines from Martin Lambert.
Did you take the factory recommendations (c.g. and so on)?
Are there any oddities or other things to consider?
It would be nice if you could give me some tips. The servo positions for rudder and elevator are very bad (looks not nice). I´ll try to find out other possibilities.

Do you mean the Kolibri-Turbine-stuff?
Here you can find the manufacturers homepage [link]http://www.lambert-modellturbinen.de[/link]
and here something about tested models (only in german at this time) [link]http://www.kolibri-jets.de[/link]
For the ailerons I didn´t want to use such big servos as the manufacturer planned. I use the 3150 Futabas and made some adapter plates.
The retracts I plan to use are from Behotec, it´s a C21 and a little bit to small for the prepared cuttings. So I will fill these with adaptor plates too.
To check if the turbine will fit, I opened the the things, the engines comes in (don´t know the word, could you help me?)[] very carefully with a fine handsaw at the silver line.
One picture is with autostart turbine (dummy without exhaust nozzle), the other one with handstart Kolibri. Think the handstart ones will look nicer in the front view.
I´ll keep you informed about my next steps if you´re interested.
Peter
