Default Twin Engine Synchronization

In the August 07' issue of the AMA magazine there was an article explaining and illistrating how to use a JR10 tx program to synchronize one engine to the other (master-slave.) Has anyone been successful in using this technique using a Futaba9 tx? If so any negatives associated with using such a program?

The Futaba 8UAF/P has a similar program, but without the intermediate steps. I am using it now and have found no negatives at all.

Thanks of the reference. Went there. Only ref. to twin engine was guy wanting to be able to have selective switchs to have one or the other engine go to idle. I'm looking for transmitter program(s) to synchronize both engines throughout the throttle range.

Thanks for the reply. Where did you find the program(s) and does it use graphs in the program mix menu?

No, it does not synchronize the throttles throughout the range, only at the top and bottom. It does not use graphs. It is just a simple P-mix of the slave channel to the master channel, but it does allow both the trim and throttle kill to be slaved as well. You have to use channel 8 as the slave channel. 5,6 and 7 will not work.

If you are careful to have the throttle arms at the same angle on the carb barrels, the engines will sync very well throughout the range.

After setting each engine to run it's best throughout the range, I just use ATV to sync the idle and top end rpms. The result is near perfect.

Jim

Sounds like a good plan. I'll check it out. Thanks
