Default 310 with OF FL 70's

Does anyone know if the third fuel line for the breather to the muffler is needed on the fl-70. What's the advantage if any? Can I do without it? Can I illiminate the mufflers all together?
Any advise is appreciated.

The line from the backplate to the muffler is a crankcase vent. A lot of unburnt lubricant finds its way into the crankcase and it is pumped out through this line to the muffler. Other engines just have a nipple and the gunk ends up getting sprayed all over the engine compartment and the belly of the airplane. I'd leave it on.
