Has anyone ever seen or constructed a Goldberg Tiger 60 into a twin engine??? I've just crashed mine, and am looking at building another one with twin engines. I figured while I still had the complete wing I could get the dimensions cut and see what all I would need to do when I constructed a new one into a twin. I figured 2 40 sized ball bearing motors with 9-6 props mounted closely to the fuselage would be a nice twin engine trainer, if there's such a thing. Just looking for suggestions and Ideas.

Nope!!
Never been done..
Neither has the Tiger II with two Super Tiger .45's ..
Excelllent flying plane.. Would be a good first twin but
would be better if rudder hinge line was moved forward about
half an inch..
Oh,, and skip the 9" prop idea.. 10X6 is way to go...

Thank you for the compliment..
That plane was powered by 40LA's so yes, a couple of
70 4 strokes would be kick***** plus it would sound
great...
Just make the nacelles a little bigger than what mine were
as I squeezed a 10oz tank in each and I do mean
squzzzzeeed....
The Tiger 60 is a great canadate for retracts as well..

I surely appreciate the input and the pictures. Yours almost looks as if it came as a kit that way, and the single engine is a bashed design. I was dreaming lasnight of what to do about the fuel tank mount and though of nacelles similar to the ones on your plane. Could you go quickly into how you set up the wing for the engine mounts and the fuel tanks. I don't want to take up too much of your time, but any little tips would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again for your posts

The easy answer is to take the fuel tank and make a box that fits
around it out of lite ply then add in firewall for motor mount that
is about as thick as your blind nuts. Insert firewall between box
sides and then 'pin'.. Wouldn't hurt to add some tri stock to both
sides as well.. Make box to go at least to wing spar..
In the section of box behind fuel tank leave room for throttle
servo, and leave room on side for throttle linkage..
And of course, the whole time making sure that you keep the
proper alingment of thrust angles..
As noted prior, the Tiger 60 is excellent canadate for making a
TWIN and it will give a person lots of room to grow with doing
twins..
