Default Wing Mfg. B-17

Hi all. I was wondering if any of you guys have any experience with the Wing Mfg. B-17.
I bought one at Toledo a couple of years ago and it is next in line for the work bench.
It was my plan to use it as "training wheels" before I go totally overboard and get a Don Smith B-17.

Mike:

A Wing B-17 is rather more complicated that I would think appropriate for "Training wheels," but to each his own.

If you mean also that this is your first multi, you might consider a twin instead of quad engines first.

And there are many "First twin" type threads here, check any of them.

Hi Bill, thanks for replying to my post. Good advice is always welcome.
"training wheels" ment 1st B-17. I was just looking for someone who had
built one of the wing kits.
Maybe I should have posted in the kit forum. but I figured in the
multi-engine forum I was bound to run into one.

Mike:

Your post would have been fine either here or in Kits, I agree that you'll more probably get a usable response here. If you want to try Kits I'll move it for you - let me know. I'm moderator in both.

I've been playing with twins about ten years, I have yet to do my first with three or more engines.

Hope you enjoy all of them.

Bill.

Mike if you plan on using you wing B-17 as a trainer thats OKAY. But if you also plan on using it as a starter kit for scale then look at the nuesels they need a lot of work to get that scale look. I have one on the bench with the fuse framed up. Thats as far as I have gotten so far (other projects to do too) but plan on finishing it soon.

I think "nuesels" are those things on French airplanes... You know... Those airplanes that can't fly.
