CEN fun factor MT2
This is my first review and my first RC car.
I am 48 years old and have been an auto mechanic all my life.
I was a crew member on a GT-3 IMSA car in the 80's been all over the country to road circuits.
I know nothing about glow engines ( until a few weeks ago when I bought my daughter a CEN MT-2.
Price was $260.( what a deal)
The first thing I did was a search on this forum about this truck.
Then I did the .01% left to finish the truck.
CEN does EVERYTHING for you EXCEPT put the antenna wire in the plastic antenna tube.
OK 30 years of mechanic ing I can do this! WRONG! 40 minutes later and no kind of lube or fishing wire tricks will get this wire in that tube.:-(
Picked up a new tube( blue is my favorite color) at the LHS and 5 seconds and we are ready to drive.
batteries charged up I tested the radio range.
HUMMM; only 50 feet? that won't work at all.(maybe I damaged the wire spending 40 minutes trying to stuff it into the tube??
Oh well, since this is my new "hobby" I went out and bought a futaba 3PK.
GREAT RADIO!.
OK we are driving! YE HA!
spent a day trying to run this thing as rich as CEN sent it to me. no dice.
CEN admitted it is set REALLY RICH and in humid climates it may be too too rich.
1/2 turn in and it sounds OK for brake in.
Did 5 tanks going in circles in my driveway and ready to lean it out.
Went over the step on the side walk; flipped it over and bent 2 shock upper mount bolts.
( remember I bought this for my daughter? he he )
Got it fixed and hit the curb. Broke the ft dif axle hub in the dif.
Hey this is fun! sure beats working on a real GT-3 car in the trailer going 1.000 miles non stop to the next track.LOL!
Now it's all tuned up and ready to go I just may let my daughter play with it LOL!
BTW thanks to Ehobbies for getting my everything I broke in under a week across the country.
I'm sure I'll need lots more soon:-)

RE: CEN fun factor MT2
ya you got that right.
except the sponcor pain for the GT3 car.LOL!
hey where else could you have this much fun for under 2,000$:-)
My bigest problem is using the CEN and then taking my mugen mbx4xr for a spin afterwords. kind of make the CEN look like it's going backwards. But that is an unfair comparison.
I can;t wait for someone to put a big block in a CEN and see how it holds up.personally I have my doubts the drivetrain will last.( I havn't seen all the hop up parts for it though)

RE: CEN fun factor MT2
I have been working on a CEN fun factor MT2 that was a run away into a car tire. Yep, full speed + car Tire = Out of commission. I can say it took the hit good but the original owner did far worse to it then the impact. Now I have it a trying to make all the repairs. I have been running Losi and TA trucks. Can some one point me to some site that I can get a exploded diagram of this model.
