Default E-Flite UMX Pitts S-1S BNF Basic Biplane Unboxing, Maiden, and Review

This is the unboxing, maiden flight, and review of the new E-Flite UMX Pitts S-1S BNF Basic with AS3X Technology. It is the opposite in that regard compared to my E-Flite UMX Radian RC Glider which comes with everything you need except the radio.

Here are my Unboxing, Maiden Flight, and Review Notes for the Pitts:

Cons:
- I couldn't find any (It is seriously a great little plane!)

Pros:
- A stout little plane
- Much faster than expected
- Handles wind better than expected
- Very FUN to fly even in wind

Verdict: This is worth the inflated price Horizon Hobby charges for its planes.

Here is the video review:

So I had my first crash with it. It seems to be tough too! I am still trying to figure out what happened, but hopefully it never happens again:

I hear ya.. the only thing that has slowed me down in the past 2 years is lack of space... I have to choose "selectively"

This is a great little plane for sure and TOUGH!

I had a fun flight recorded recently that went a little crazy at the end. Everything was going as planned until a few minutes in, long before the timer was supposed to sound, something happened.

http://youtu.be/5_ycLPAzb5E I swear, most of my flights with this plane go perfectly when the camera isn't recording!

It sounded like your battery was dying sooner than expected? Mine do that sometimes when I haven't used them for months. Nice video it looks great in the air.

Do you think it is more robust than the UMX Beast?

Thank you!

This is WAY more robust than the Beast. It is a little biplane tank in comparison. And yep, the battery failed on my minutes before it should have. I think it is just tired.

This is my first pavement landing caught on video. Even with the audience chatting in the background it was a fun little flight:

This is the best representation of slow flight with this plane I have posted so far. It is great fast or slow!
