my brother and i each got dragonfly 4s for xmas. immediately noticed that his "beeped" when power on and mine didnt. was'nt sure which was right, beep or no beep, then it answered itself. mine will kick into full throttle on its own!! everything works fine on simulator, so i think problem is in heli. everything responds to commands i make, except for the throttle has a lag. if i push full throttle or kill throttle it takes about 10-20 seconds b4 it reacts.....my brothers is immediately. i can let it sit idle and it will kick into full throttle on its own, only way i can stop it when it does this is pull battery from heli. any help?
note; i did switch crystals between our heli's to see if it help. nothing was different. i also turn controller on first and have checked connections.

It sounds like youve done every thing right and know how to set it up properly so we can skip the obvous stuff.(i am assuming that when you say you swaped crystals that you tryed your heli with your bro's TX and it did the same thing) From the sound of it the speed control is bad, it should beep to signal you on setup and when you connect power. If all the controls on the heli move correctly and the throttle wont work right that the speed control is bad from the get go.

yes. i put my crystal in his controller and it was the same thing....which, to me, points out its something in the heli. i know VERY little about R/C stuff....but i'm guessing i need to order another reciever for the heli? i've emailed the site i ordered the heli from (in hong kong) and also walkera (which is also oversees) so i dont know what kinda responce, if any, i will get. i've found recievers for around $30 online and if i can find someone to confirm this is indeed what i need i will just go ahead and order it myself. as another note i swapped out recievers between the two helis and mine worked fine then....but his did not. i'm 99.9% sure i just need a reciever. suggestions???

The speed control is bad for sure, the speed control pomers the RX, if you swapped RX's and it did the same thing then the speed control neens to be replaced.
does your DF-4 uses the four in one controller?? the RX,tail rotor controller and main motor controller on one board or are the parts seperate?

when i swapped RXs the problem moved from one heli to the other. in othere words the bad heli was now good and the good heli was now bad. the problem is in the heli with the "bad" RX in it. i can make mine right by using his RX, but his heli goes bad. thats why i think is the RX. when i swapped them it fixed the problem on mine, but moved it to his.
by 4 in 1 do you mean the RX has all the wires connected to one "board"? sorry i'm a newbie. my reciever has a "circuit board" inside it....all the wires to the heli run thruogh it. power, main motor, tail motor, and 2 gyros. i have no idea if this helps or even answers that question.

Right on, i hope those guy's make it right with you and you dont have to wait to long for parts or any thing. At least you can share the other heli till you get yours!
