Default Back to the DF60 flyng problems.

Hello,

iv got DF60 from my friend to test it. Main problem is like usual - that thing wont lift off. Ok power setup is speed 400 motor and LIPO 11,1v battery. Is that combination ok or not. Also iv checked the PITCH and from my oppinion that was OK. Does anyone can tell where can to be a problem. Bad motor and battery combination? Maybe i shold take SWASHPLATE to a pieces and put it together again and adjust it?

BR
Tanel.

#1- Check and make sure you have 10 degrees pos. pitch at full stick. (adjust with DIP #10 and V2 turn to the right)

#2- Turn up the throttle curve to 80% (use DIP #11 knob V1 turn to the right)

#3- Check the tail rotor drive belt for proper tightness (check between the red drive gear and the small red idler pulley) With mild pressure (not hard, just a little) you should be able to push the belt 1/2 way to the other side. Thay come WAY to tight and that robs a lot of power.

#4- Make sure the main gear to motor pinion gear mesh is not to tight. There should be a small amount of play (or space) inbetween the teeth on the gears. Put your thumb on the gear and lightly rock the gear back and forth you will fell the play as a kind of clunking loose feeling.

#5- You might want to consider replaceing the small wire from the speed control to the motor with something larger (double that or better), and get rid of that plug. That also robs power in the form of a voltage drop to the motor.

Try those things and see if thay help, let me know how it goes. That 3 cell LiPo and brushed motor works very well together, and will fly the heli fine so it is an adjustment problem.

Tail rotor belts seems to be very tight. How is the easyest way to loosen it little?

Look in the Venom Aircops manual of the 3D Night Ranger; it is explained on pag. 3:

There is also a small set screw on the right side that has to be loosened to, and give the boom a twist while you push it in. You will be suprised how much better the parts turn with the belt set right.

It is a little black Allan Key fix screw in the plastic support of the tail; also there is another shiny philips screw in the top, screwing on in the plastic itself to close the bloom (be careful, after two removes, the screw destroys the plastic turn itself, so probably you will need to replace it for a normal screw with nut as I did).. Then you can move in & out; but also you can turn !!! so check that the rudder blades are well aligned when they rotate (parallel to the bloom at 0ΒΊ and 90ΒΊ).

Good luck
