Default Walkera 36 Heli Project with my daugther need some help please

Hi Everyone,

I'm here again and seeking some help, I acquired a walkera 36 parts and would like to rebuild it with my daugther as her project.

We need to get a motor and esc which one should I get please advise...

Motor Selection...
1. TP 2410-08 Brushless Outrunner - 890 KV - $11.41
2. TP 2408-21 Brushless Outrunner - 1450 KV - $11.41
3. TP 2410-09 Brushless Outrunner - 840 KV - $11.41

ESC Selection...
1. TP GEN2 Brushless Programmable ESC - 18A -$18.86
Current: 18A-25A
2. TP GEN2 Brushless Programmable ESC - 30A - $23.95
Current: 30A-45A
3. Electronic Speed Control Brushed Vesion ESC - 30A - $12.90
Current: N/A Constant 30A for 10 mins

Will be using a Futaba 7 channel receiver and 4 micro servo from my spitfire.

I dont have a DF36, but from the looks of the motor specs, those are all way to low in the KV range. More like 4300kv is the neighborhood you should be looking in. Also consider some real servos instead of re-using ones from a spitfire.

Go for the 30a esc. the others might be cutting it close. If you go larger, then you are assured that it can handle the motor requirements. Also, you could at a later date change it to a bigger heli. Get HS55 servos, at about 15 a piece, good deal and very popular.

I would not go below 3200kv for the motor.

an 30A ESC is preffered as you could quickly go above 20A with the #36. looking at the ones you have listed, only #2 is usable for a brushless motor.

and as stated above, the hs55 servos are cheap and very usable in the #36

HeliGunner,

All those motors are way too low on the KV...you can go as low as 2800KV with a 13T pinion, but best to stay at or above 3000KV with 13T (over about 3200KV you might want to drop it to 11T). About the cheapest you can get a (decent) ESC and motor is $50 US for both. Check out http://www.Helidirect.com - go for the 30A Dynam ESC and possibly one of the 450 HDX outrunners. If you need servos also you can get the HXT900 servos from http://www.unitedhobbies.com for $3.50 US apiece and they work great. They also have the KA450 outrunner some of us have used for about $14. Do keep in mind that because United Hobbies is in China, it will take about two weeks to receive your order.
