Default Modifying Main Gun Fire Control

Newbie here

I have a Tamiya Pershing, a Futaba 2.4 gHz 4 channel radio, and a question...

How do I change the Main gun fire control to a push button on the radio instead of the default trim/stick combo?

Hi Dave,

I like that RCU handle. I hope Karen is happy with it too.....LOL. As for your fire button opening up a hundred dollar radio and cutting and soldering is not for the faint of heart. Remove your batteries and open the back of your TX. You will need a quality momentary switch that is either a push button or toggle. Add it to the top left corner of your TX. Then you will need to solder two small wires to the top two wires on the contoller for the gun elevation pot/joystick. You also need to make this joysick self centering. Karen has the kits for this. The spring and plastic arm are a few bucks. If you were closer I'd tell you to stop by and I'll show you how. Tin the wires, use good flux and take your time. If you can't do it call or PM me. I haven't ruined a radio yet, but I'm still trying.

Thanks Bob

This seems do-able.
I took a peek inside when I installed the self centering spring/arm.
I'm just not sure which set of wires is the right one.
There are two sets for each stick.
One set on the side and one set on the bottom of the stick.
