Default 21st Abrams

I know this is an old question, but I need a new answer. Does anyone STILL make upgrades for this tank? I know some of this stuff ceased about 2-3 years ago. I bought a 1/9 scale Abrams ($40) that has no transmitter. I charged a battery and put it in , tried my 21st Stuart remote to no avail. I took the bottom off to see if there was any obvious signs of not working but everything "looked" fine. The tanks in real good shape other than no remote and no power up. Pretty much right now a shelf queen. Anyone got any spare parts...lol

Tankzone sells some 1/8 (close enough to the 1/9) scale 50 cal and M240 machine guns.  Stand by though they are pricy when shipped to the US.   I used their M240 on mine.   Internally, there was a guy who use to do an electronics upgrade for it.   He quit doing them, I all but begged but no joy.   There may be a way of using ElMod electronics in it. Phil and I at one time talked about it.  ElMod can handle up to 12 volts. You would have to use a custom made NMh battery in it.  Other than that, there is really no one that I know of.

A Mod needs to move this discussion to the general tank forum.

<p style="margin-bottom: 0in">Concerning theIREmitter: I have purchased IR emitter tubes from ETO Armor in the past. (Part DP20) At this time I cannot locate the part on their site. You might want to contact them about the tube. It takes some modeling on Tamiya Tanks. The length of the tube also gives the proper set back of the LED Emitter for max range, and also follows the International Rules of Engagement for RC Tanks.
