Default Small Scale Armor

I was looking at my collection of mini armor and thought I would try a few pictures with my new camera...turns out that it doesn't always make clear close-up shots. I will have to tweek the settings a bit in the future.

These are different sizes, and most are straight out of the box. I did paint the N.A.T.O. Abrams since I had two of the desert version. Anyone else want to share your true shelf queens?

Here are the last of the shots that I took. It is almost like having my own tiny museum. I need to paint that little shelf to appear more military-looking or build a diorama.

What scale? Well, I bought the M26 Dragon today and it is 1:72. The Sherman and some of the others are, as well. As for the rest...eh not really sure. [sm=50_50.gif] I find it strange that I often catch myself driving by toy stores...that are not on the way home. [sm=red_smile.gif]

Challenger 2 looks 1/48 - a Tamiya? Looks good

The Sherman - an Airsoft (brand)? M113 perhaps Trumpeter?

I've been collecting Solido/Verem/Gaso line tanks for years. Can't beat real metal with working metal tracks! They are getting harder to find. Mostly on Ebay. I probably have over 100 of them. Polistil and Minichamps are also metal tracked static tanks. Would love to see your Solido's armchairgeneral.

Icecreamslick:

Is that Challenger 2 the FOV (Forces of Valor) 1/32 scale kit? I have one of those and feel it is almost as good as Tamiya's 1/35 scale model, its bigger (1/32 scale), heavier, and its made of metal.

Yes, it is from FOV, but I was not sure of the scale until you mentioned 1:32. That sounds correct, but it was not a "kit"... I just opened the box and put it on a shelf.

I want to see your stuff, ArmChairGeneral. [sm=thumbs_up.gif]

never thought of making a shelf like that and have it a diorama. that would be awesome. I scoured wal-mart for the 1:72 scale tanks they were selling there, i should find a shelf thing like that for them...

also love the tank carrier! those are awesome.

Yes, I'd like to see the Solido's, and any other military diecast for that matter! Just won 2 more Solido vehicles off eBay, I've got over 650 diecast military vehicles now, Britains, Corgi, Dinky, Matchbox, Solido etc. Running out of space! Can post pics of mine if anyone wants to see them!

The shelf in the picture above is actually a silverware tray for your kitchen drawer that I found at Target for $3.00.

OwlsfanDan, I want to see some of your collection! 650?!!! [X(] Wow!

Ooops, I meant to say model, not kit, I was thinking of Tamiya's kit at that moment for the comparison

Here's some more! This is only the tip of a very large olive drab iceberg! Most of the stuff is boxed, and therefore not as easy to quickly get out and photograph. These pics are just what was easiest to hand!!!

Very nice owlsfan! I see you collect Dinky's also. The Honest John still has its rocket and the Striker still has its missiles. Thats great! The Solido PT-76 is kind of rare. It always sells well on Ebay. I see you have a Mebetoys Leopard. They are hard to find.

Great collection, Dan! [sm=thumbs_up.gif] I'm curious to know what your significant other thinks of you having all of those little treasures?!! Storage must be a pain.

One day, I hope to have a room in the house that is all mine. I would love to have an entire wall dedicated to my various collections, with custom shelves from floor to ceiling, end to end. Sort of like a 3D mosaic made from everything that I find interesting to look at and proud to have on display.

I got a new one, today:

Yes, storage is a bit of a pain, like I said most of my collection is boxed up, though I would like to take some pics of these at a later date. My girlfriend was amazed when she saw just how much I'd collected! It has been built up over 20 years, with the first few being ones my dad found in second hand shops or car boot sales and bought for me to play with. To be fair, although some of my earlier vehicles have been through their fair share of living room battles, I still looked after them, and now, I'm really glad I did!
eBay has allowed me to really expand, with vehicles I've never seen before being obtainable!
The Mebetoys Leopard came off eBay, thats one I didn't know existed until I saw it. Got the PT76 quite a while ago from a toy fair. I've also got the missile launcher version in white.
Wish I had the full collection of Polistil tanks! Only got the Chieftain so far! My favourites are my 4 Gonio 1:24 M3 half tracks. The M3A1 half track is my favourite military vehicle, and the detail on these is really good, plus they are almost entirely metal! The Jeep, Dodge weapons carrier and the Kubelwagen in one of the pics are also Gonio.
I'll try and take some more pics over the weekend!
