This is the link to the Matorro Kingtiger. I'll be getting one of these soon but I need to know about the coloursit has 2, green and dessert yellow. What I was wondering was though what do the colours look like, and is one of the options the example in the picture if not is there a way to get one that colour? Also any tips or advice about the Matorro Kingtiger would be helpful.
Many Thanks

Welcome to the Tank forum, you have found yourself in the War Room side of the forum, and you will find more Info. on the Tank in the Main Tank Forum. Before you clicked on War Room, if you scroll down first you will see that your in the Main Tank area.
There is lots to read on this Tank there. Enjoy
Gary
If click on RC Tanks just behind War Room it will take you back.

Heres mine. Anyway if I was you I would try to get a Tamiya off Ebay even an old kit for $200.00 and $50.00 for some HL electronics will be such a better tank.
I would think that about 60% ot this tanks have something wrong with them out of the box.
Unless they have changed them they are a tri-color with brown sand and almost a reddish purple like color. I wonder if they did not use some left over toy car paints on them.

Of Hobby Havoc's large shipment of KTs, only a 2-3 had shipping damage (whilst in transit from factory to Australia) and were kept as spares, other than that they function as intended.
I wish they had painted the whole thing like the lower wheels, they look great as is. In different light the purple appears very pink, but can be toned down with a little brown overspray or a dark wash.

Hi Wacky were the shipments your company got all the exact same colors. Also a quick ? do you think there was to much play in the tracks like maybe extra links or just to much tank for the gears and motors Matorro used. I used some HL S&S electronics on mine which work great just have not switched out the motors and gears yet.
I will try that brown overspray and dark wash tip that should make it look a lot better thanks. I know there is hope for this KT yet.

The paint on the Matorro KT out of the box is pretty terrible, it looks nothing much like the photos at the Matotoys site, the brown (or wht is supposed to be brown) in reality looks more like some kind of cheap reddish/purple lipstick... I mean it's just awful, and what's worse is the whole thing has a very plasticky sheen to it that makes it look very toyish in my opinion. Honestly, I think you will want to repaint it if you want it look any good at all. I knew I would repaint mine the moment I took it out of the box, and here's a couple of pics of the results... still much to be done, but overall I'm quite pleased with the look, it's based on an actual KT in a museum in France.

Thanks for the compliment. The type of paint is really a matter of personal preference, for me the Testors Model Master enamel paints offer an excellent range of colors and user friendliness, but some people prefer acrylics...it's really like asking what kind of pizza does one like best..?? Ask ten different people and you'll get ten different answers. Airbrushing is probably the best way to go, but getting good with one takes some practice and patience. Some people even use spray cans, especially for the base coats, they can produce very uniform results and offer super easy cleanup...LOL There are far more knowledgeable and talented people around here when it comes to painting, I would suggest you search around and I'm certain you'll find tons of very specific painting related info.

Welcome!!!
Here's how I did my own Matorro KT, using a pattern called "sun and shade" or "ambush camouflage". The paints I used were Humbrol 93 (Desert Yellow), Humbrol 30 (Dark Green) and Humbrol 160 (German camouflage Red Brown).
I used a regular Paint Brush to apply the colours as I don't own an Airbrush. Use your own choice of paints, of course and whatever application method you use, you'll find plenty of "tips" on this Forum!!
