That makes me think that painting rust spots on weathered scale models is something very unrealistic

Mud is one of the best rust inhibitors but I do agree that chipping and rust is pretty much overdone.

Indeed the other video of the KV-1 recovered from a lake afre 56 years does report several rust signs.

Did anyone else read the next page? Its insane how all fully restored weapons no matter how old, can and will be called upon in defense need be.
medieval weaponry is apparently no exception... I would love to see a few people try to fire a medieval cannons at a modern tank

Whats worth more. A run of the mill Russian T34/76 or a T34/76 captured by the Germans with the Balken crosses still intact after all these years?? Makes you wonder about its authenticity.

Actually this was more of a "peat bog" which perserves things very well. The complete lack of oxygen prevents reactions with the paint and exposed steel. Human remains have been found in similar peat bogs that were perserved better than a mummy.
