Edge 540 v2 rebuild
Well I went and picked up my Wild Hare Edge 540t today.. It is going to be my winter Project I Plan to recover it and make it new again or almost new.. I have decided to do a rebuild thread. I have along rebuild in front of me should take me most of the winter but hey thats what Iwanted.. I have already decided on a powerhouse I will house a Dle 55 or a Dla 56 just according how i like my dla 56 that is on my hanger 9 extra 260 27percent.. I will have hitec 645 mg in the Alerions and then i will go with Hitec Digitals for rudder and Elevator so tonight after supper i went out and started Stripping the Cover off of it Also the Airframe is very ruff had a few Dead sticks in a Corn Field and the previous owner just did some patch work with expand a foam and balsa sheeting Also I have to replace the piece of lite ply that covered the Canister holder in the fuse and then I have to replace the Front of the Motor box Also rebuild the cowl or buy a new one and buy a new canopy... so thats enought typein for now here are the pics of before the start and what i have done so far... Also Iplan to cover it like the Baby Edge 540 but with a few extras added on to it

I have canopies and cowlings.
You find the thrust line by aligning the engine so it is centered in the cowl, since the cowl is pre-mounted and can not be moved.

RE: Edge 540 v2 rebuild
Well it has been a while since i have posted on the edge I have not worked on it in a few weeks been busy swaping engines on my seagul Edge 540 I put a dle 20 on it and then put new servos in my extra 260. so today was the first day i got to work on the wild hare edge in about 3 weeks...
I got the alerions glued in today and also got the canopy cut to fit and then installed with some nice lookin allen head servo screws and some rubber backed washer it looks really good so here is some pics finally with the cowl on it I took the plane to work a few saturdays ago and painted it to match I paint cars for a living and belive me this cowling was more complicated to paint than a car lol getting the color to match was a pain in my ass so here are the pics i hope everyone likes it
