I recently lost my 30% EDGE 540 due to radio failure, it was an amazing aircraft and I'd do anything to get my hands on another one. If anyone has one that they are willing to part with or know where I can get a new fuselage, cowling, and canopy it would be GREATLY appreciated.

Weird have not heard many recently playing with the old Wild Hare Edge I had two kept one new in the box for ages. I sold the first one this fall which is still flying and started building the second a little while ago. Good luck with your search.

I just checked in the attic, I have a New-in-box WH Edge 540, but in the manual it's called a 28%, not 30%, and the wingspan is listed as 84", not 88". Earlier model? It's listed as a 50cc plane, the manual calls for 50cc or 62cc. I believe I ordered it in 2002. (Edit: Nope, 2004) As I recall, they offered an upgrade hardware set, wing tubes too if I recall correctly, and I got the upgrade too.

I looked at the instructions today and it is indeed a 28% not the 88 inch version. It does fly great though. Anyone notice the engine sitting on the bench with the plane. Know what it is?

Parrill540 - I just saw your post. I have a 88" 540 that has never been flown. It has been sitting in a climate controlled room since I bought it from Tom. I hadn't really planned on selling it, but life has me so busy right now that I cannot forsee flying it (or anything else) anytime soon. I am located in San Antonio, Texas, but would be willing to discuss a sale if you are interested. I could see freight being an issue, as I no longer have any of the boxes. If you would like, just blast me an email and we can discuss.

I'm still flying mine (fall 2008 maiden) and, apart from wearing out one set of wheels and having to do some rebuild work account one ignition failure, it's still flying great. Love this little airplane. Check out my profile for pics.

Hello friends, just bumping this thread as I came across it. I recently revived one of these planes. She is a little rough on the edges but has a lot of history. The gear were ripped off by a previous member. I have the cowl and spinner too. I love it and agree with all of you that it is such a beautiful flying plane! I am not going to keep it forever so I'll probably want to sell it by mid summer. Is anyone interested? I'm in Tallahassee. It has a ZDZ 60CC RV that can take CM-6 plugs so this plane is rock and roll. I use redline oil and the ultracoat is bone dry after flights. Runs like a champ.
I actually officially maidened it this past Saturday, here's a video of flight #3: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-s5LBA4Q8Os

Yes I would love to have this plane.
What would you take for it?
Also if anyone knows where I could get a cowl for this plane PLEASE let me know.
I know where there is one for sale right now at a good price but it needs a cowl.

Hi all...i am also looking for a Wild Hare 30% EDGE 540c air Frame for a good friend of mine. I was Test flying his plane. plane was flying fantastic, at the end of the flight coming in for a landing and dont know what happened! the bottom dropped out from about 2 feet and did not have anytime to react! happened so fast and damage the gear and the fire wall ripped out . it is totally repairable he side, but i feel really bad and would like to get him a new airframe.or if anyone has any parts like fuse of cowling.
Thanks,Vincent

That stinks Vincent. I know the feeling. I did exactly the same thing to my WildHare about 8 weeks ago. It cracked in half right behind the firewall. What motor were you flying. I have a DA50 in mine and it needed a ton of weight in the nose to balance. Without the extra weight upon landing with a low fuel tank the plane was super tail heavy. Once we added more weight to the nose this problem was gone. I had an updraft form our crossway stall me upon landing about 8 feet off the ground. My plane came down on the grass and the wheelpants bit. The nose hit hard and broke the plane in half.
