Well my buddy called me today to see if I had time to ride down to the
hobby shop with him. Since I had to work all day and I asked him to
check to see if my Edge 540 showed up... He called me and told me
it was in and that he was brining it back to his house for me! I was
getting excited thinking I could work on the plane this weekend but
when we opened up the box I found an all white plane!!!!

I didn't order an all white plane, and all the Edge's are gone untill
mid May.

The Hobby shop has contacted Wild Hare to see what is up and I will
be making calls on Friday myself to see what happen.

Also the hardware kit is missing, or some of it??? It had a gas tank,
wheels, 1 carbon fiber pushrod with all 4 or 5 thread rods, and a small
bag with the tail wheel hardware. Question, is that the hardware kit???

I don't know if I did not get the hardware kit or some of it is missing???

I am really bummed and don't know what to do, I like the idea of a
custom plane, but I really don't want to take the chance of screwing up
the covering job, and I have no idea how to go about covering it without
air bubbles getting traped.

I swear if it wasn't for bad luck I'd have no luck at all.... I wonder if
someone ordered a all white plane and now has a colored one?

Have you contacted Tom about this yet? Everyone that has a Wild Hare plane will tell you that Tom will take care of a problem just as soon as you let him know there is one. Things do sometimes happen, in all things. Give him a call.

Sorry you dident get what you ordered! This can be an opertunity to have a one of a kind bird. sighn vinal can be custom cut to order to trim out your edge.

Why diden't you order direct from Whild Hare?

Just to clarify... I didn't mean to dump on Tom or anyone, I am
sure it was a honest mistake, I just have to find out what happen.

I will call Tom in on Friday and I am sure something can be worked
out.

I might just keep the White plane and do a custom job on it, I love
the idea of having a one of a kind aircraft, but I don't want to screw it
up and make it ugly!

I ordered through the Hobby shop because they gave me a great
price for ordering everything at one time. This Hobby shop has been
around a very long time and they are very good. I actually called
Tom and spoke with him about choosing the Edge or Extra, and also
mentioned I would be ordering through this shop... He knew the
shop by name, so I had no worries.

I just spent the last hour downloading pictures of Edge's to try and
figure out a scheme.

Anyone have some links or pictures of a nice scheme I could do with a
white base color?

One more thing.... Tom, come hell or high water I will be flying one of
your planes! I never hear a bad word about them, and you spent
the time with me on the phone (when I could tell you where busy) to
answer my stupid Edge or Extra questions!!!

Since you already have the white one do this airbrush!!! for sure it will be one of a kind!!!

I ordered a Edge few weeks ago and my hardware package was complete. Tank..wheel..wheel axle...tubing..tail wheel assembly....wheel pants...screwss...control horns..You should have all this. Anyway if you don't..im sure Tom will work on that asap.

I do have an air brush, but i don't have the talent it would take to paint that!

Can the covering be painted ? I thought I would have to use something like
monokote with windex, then us the trim solvent to seal the edges?

Let me respond first by saying that I am not asking anyone to
conduct bussiness on the public forum. However I am asking
questions so that when I make contact with you or the shop I
know what I am talking about.

I also have to research how hard it will be to do the graphics
so I can decide weather to keep the whit plane or send it back.

That white one may be someone elses.. If you can keep it though that would be cool.. I like the stock scheme but with some imagination and some monokote you could have a mean lookin bird... Tom will fix you up..

Make the call, together determine what you want or need to do, then proceed on an agreeable course towards completion and Nirvana.

It's very hard to resolve a problem when the problem becomes a fishing expedition.

I had considered using "Utopia" but after you fly one of the 28% planes Nirvana comes out the better choice.

Nirvana is right, untill ur engine decides to loose power in a hover and make the plane crash!! [:'(]

I would rather have the solid color one, add some Ultracote graphics and you wont have to see 10 other planes just like it. I have a solid red Extra Special and it was really easy to trim it out for that "Custom" look.
