Holy smokes, I was transporting my 540 back from the field and when I got home I foune that the fuselage covering was just a bubbling mess. I think I migh end up having to recover this plane far sooner than I expected. As the plane sits the covering is a wrinked mess.
FWIW, this plane has been in the air through 3 gallons of fuel. I've reironed the plane but it's having very little effect on it.
Oh well.

take a newer sock turn inside out put on left hand
take heat gun wave over a small section 3"x3" square for a sec and smoth it down with the sock work the entire plane and all will be well

I rarely have to tighten up the covering and when I do it's just in small places.
Did you maybe leave it in the sun or in the car in high heat? This is pretty unusual.

I am going to ask the same question as tom... so. Usualy leaving a plane in the car, even only say for a day, in high heat will make your covering bubble up. My whenever planes that I kept in my car would get this really bad. Easy remedy is my heat gun and covering iron. Heat gun is fine for planes that use mainly just one scheme. Be more careful with the multi colored planes and either take your time with your heat gun, or just use the iron mainly and heat gun for trouble spots. I found that using a combination of the heat gun and my iron makes things go bye really fast
Of course you could just get Tom's composite he is comming out with or a composite ARF and not worry about the bubbles

Yeah living in the barracks and in NC where temperatures can vary from a nice 80 degrees, to where my planes will frost at the end of the day I experience the same thing. I think its bad on airframe to keep going through the extreme weather changes. No matter though, the Army gives me my honorable discharge papers tommorow!! Then its back to sunny FL.

I've hit my extra several times also with the iron usually wings ailerons, and elevators. think I'm going to purchase a heat gun and try these recommendations.

I took my edge to the field for its First flight in the morning and had to return home. I had left the plane in the car so i could return to the field later in the afternoon And I almost cryed when some of the guys saw my new pride and joy. Hot cars and monocoat are a bad combo.
