DA has had some problems with their 50R. If you do a search in the "GAS ENGINE" forum you will find several threads pertaining to that engine. One thing you have in your favor, DA HAS THE SOME OF THE BEST customer service in the industry. They will bend over backwards to make you satisfied. Give them some time to correct your problem and I'm sure they will make it right.

Here in Australia, DA is serviced by Ian Howard in Brisbane. I bought my engine second hand, and after I'd bought it, I read about the issues some were facing.
I decided to have all the upgrades done on the engine, and generally give the engine an overhaul, if it was needed.
I expected to pay for this, as I was not the original purchaser, but I was informed all the work was under warranty.
Not only were all the mods carried out, but a new spark plug, cap and boot, and HT lead were installed.
The mods took a little while to carry out, as parts had to be ordered in from the US, but the engine was back to me in two weeks, complete with a DA beanie and letter of apology for the length of time it took to return!
Now that is service!
Well done Ian and DA service. I'm a DA man from here on in!

This is all typical of DA. There are some updates for the 50 that includes a new carb block and a crankshaft. My father buried his engine in from 400 ft and sent it in for repair. They did the repair and noticed that he did not have all the update parts so the repair was done for free with the new version crank. He also had an ignition that was questionable and thay just outright swapped for a new one.
